$1 Milford Sound Cruise Deal. No joke!

With visitor numbers down 75%, now is the best time for Kiwis to soak up the incredible beauty of Milford Sound. From today, Real Journeys, the 1954-founded family tourism company, is offering one thousand $1 Real Journeys’ Milford Sound Cruises especially for Kiwis in the hope of encouraging them to explore their backyard throughout the spectacular seasons of autumn and winter.

The poster child of international tourism in Aotearoa, many Kiwis know the Milford Sound is there, have seen the images, and are familiar with its ‘eighth wonder of the world’ status, but have not yet experienced the glacier-carved fiord and its waterfalls up close and personal on a Milford Sound Cruise.

New CEO of Wayfare Group (owner of Real Journeys) Stephen England-Hall, said: “Jumping aboard a Milford Sound Cruise is the best way to appreciate the scale of the ‘eighth wonder of the world and witness Aotearoa’s national taonga.”

“While a cruise might still be sitting on the bucket list for Kiwis, there has never been a better time than now to visit and we hope the $1 deal is an offer Kiwis can’t refuse. “Visitor numbers on a Milford Sound Cruise are down 75% since New Zealand’s borders closed to international visitors. The Te Anau and Fiordland communities heavily rely on visitors and really want to put a national spotlight on Milford Sound and encourage all New Zealanders to visit for themselves.”

A cruise across the Milford Sound in the Fiordland National Park gives a glimpse of thundering waterfalls, sky-high mountains and lush rainforests. Real Journeys operate Milford Haven, Milford Mariner and M.V. Sinbad cruise vessels that explore the length of the fiord to learn about the history of the region. The cruises, which last two hours, move close to sheer rock faces, and watch for dolphins, seals and rare Fiordland crested penguins.

To book a $1 Real Journeys’ Milford Sound Cruise experience, Kiwis can head to realjourneys.co.nz/ milford-no-joke from 1 April until 6 April or until sold out. The $1 cruises can be experienced between 1 April to 30 September 2021. For Kiwis who miss out on a $1 cruise, there are also special $30 and $59 cruises on sale, as well as regular $89 trips available via the website.
